2010 Milestone Orchard of Hope Foundation Events Video
Cancer dramatically impacts not only a person’s health, but also their financial capacities. This burden comes at a time when many cancer patients are unable to work, resulting in overwhelming stress. The Orchard of Hope Foundation is a local agency available to help patients pay for non-medical and medical expenses related to the treatment of cancer. We are committed to reducing the financial burdens for cancer patients so they can concentrate on the important goal of achieving a complete recovery. The Orchard of Hope Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that is dedicated to improving the quality of life for cancer champions in Fremont County. Three Cañon City couples formed the Orchard of Hope Foundation in early 2001. One of the founding members was a cancer survivor, giving insight into the needs of cancer patients during the treatment and recovery process. The small group started by scheduling two major fundraisers each year to assist local individuals with a diagnosis of cancer. Now, the Orchard of Hope Foundation is guided by a working board of directors, who strive to keep the Foundation rooted in the original vision of the founding members. They volunteer their time by working tirelessly for the benefit of the Foundation’s mission and they commit to be good stewards of the monies collected to help the individuals in our community that are devastated by cancer. In 2014, the Orchard of Hope foundation reached a HUGE milestone! We have given away over ONE MILLION DOLLARS in individual aid to local cancer patients. The success of the Orchard of Hope Foundation depends on the generosity of others. Our dreams could not be possible without the support and donations of individuals, businesses and corporate sponsors in Fremont County, as well as time and effort of our dedicated volunteers. We ensure that all funds raised remain in Fremont County to assist cancer patients with medical or non-medical needs.
